Naming Traditions

Hi everyone 😊 Welcome to my blog!. I hope you enjoy when you read my post. 😊
For this opportunity, I will explain about Naming Traditions.
First of all, I'll explain about naming traditions that is in Korea, Japan, And Mexico that include in this article below.

Now, I will explain about the article. The article explained that Koreans and Japanese have the same naming traditions. In Korea, wives retain their maiden name. For example, President Kim Young Sam's wife was named Sohn Myong Suk. After married, her correct name was Mrs. Sohn. And Japanese also has the similar naming traditons with Koreans.

Different with Koreans and Japanese, Mexican has the different naming traditions. When a woman marries, she keeps her maiden name and adds her husband's name after the word de (of) . For example, After marrying, Tino Martínez and María Gonzáles becomes María Gonzáles de Martínez. And when children born, the name order is a follow: given name, father's family name, and mother's family name. Tino and María's child Anita is named Anita Martínez Gonzáles.

And the second, I'll explain about this 😁

Have you ever known about this cartoon? Or is this your favourite cartoon? 😊 Yeah Upin & Ipin. Upin & Ipin is a cartoon made by Malaysia. So, I'll explain about naming tradition that is in Malaysia too.

Have you ever watched the scene of Upin & Ipin who said "Nama Saya Upin bin Abdul Salam and Nama saya Ismali bin Mail". For the first time, I think it just a name. But, In Malaysian "bin" and "binti"  have important meanings.

Amid the buzz, Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed clarified to Malay Mail Online that the National Registration Departmen (NRD) that "utilization "bin" (son of) and "binti" (daughter of) as verification that those children are the biological children (legitimate children) of those who have been attributed Bin or Binti", he said.

But Malaysian can not use "bin" or "binti" for children who born out of wedlock. For more information, you can find out of this link: https://www.malaymail.com/s/1289625/why-malaysian-muslims-have-bin-or-binti-in-their-names. 😊

Third, I will explain about naming tradition from Spanish. Spanish naming customs are historical traditions for naming children practised in Spain. According to these customs, a person's name consists of a given name (simple or composite) followed by two family names (surnames). The first surname is usually the father's first surname, and the second the mother's first surname. I think the Spanish name has the same naming tradition with Mexican naming tradition that using given name and also add by the father's name and the mother's name. For more information you can find out in this link : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_naming_customs. 😊

And the last, I will explain about Sundanese naming tradition. Actually, I am Sundanese people but my father gave me the name Eka that taken from Sanskrit (I explained on my first blog). Sundanese people have many unique names. Many sundanese people take their names from their nicknames. For example, Euis, Elis, Lilis there taken from Geulis its mean beautiful 😀. May be , Sundanese people want their children become like their names. 😁 And another example, Jajang, Ujang taken from Ujang that means son. Asep, Acep, Ncep taken from Kasep that means Handsome. 😁

I think its all information about naming traditions that I know. Thank you very much for reading my blog 😄 Don't forget to give your comment and give your critic for me. 😊

Your Name is Your Personality?

Your name is your personality? Have you ever heard or seen this word? Have you ever heard that name is prayer and hope? What is your name? Does your name have a good meaning? Does your name reflect your personality? Read this before you want to find out!

People must be given a name by their parents or their brothers/sisters or their grandparents or anyone else. Sometimes people don't know what their names mean or sometimes they don't like their names while their names have a good meaning.

Every parent must want the best name for their children. Because every parent knows that name is a hope for their children. So every parent gives the best name that has the best meaning too. They hope their children will be good people and have good personalities as reflected their names.

So, on this blog I want to explain my name, the meaning of my name given by my father. Let me introduce myself first hehehe, my name is Eka Ananda Putri. Can you guess what the means of my name? No? Okay I want to explain it and I start with my first name Eka. Eka is a name taken from Sanskrit which means one. My second name is Ananda which means child / son / daughter (because Ananda can be used for male and female names). And my last name is the Putri that everyone knows exactly what it means. Putri means a girl or maybe a princess hehehe. So the meaning of my name is the first daughter of my parents or the first princess of my parents hehehe. My father wants his daughter to always be the first in all aspects and has a good personality like a princess hehehe. I was very happy when I knew the meaning of my name because I knew that my father gave the name because he loved me, he loved his daughter. And I don't want to change my name.

One day if I have a child, I will give the best name that has the best meaning for my child. If I have a son, I will name him Muhammad Ali Firdaus. Muhammad was taken from the prophet Muhammad SAW who had a good personality such as being honest, humble, kind, forgiving and loving others. Ali was taken from one of the names of the bestfriend of the Prophet Muhammad, his name was Ali bin Abi Thalib. I hope my child can also be like Ali who has a good, humble, and simple personality. And Firdaus was taken from one of the names of heaven.  This heaven is the most glorious heaven destined for those who do not associate Allah SWT with anything and are able to distance themselves from sin. I hope my child will be a good person like the Prophet Muhammad and like Ali bin Abi Talib and he can be a person who can protect himself from sin and always love each other Aamiin.

And one day if I have a daughter, I want to give her name Nur Ainun Mardhiyyah because it is the most beautiful angel in heaven. As an angel, never make mistakes and never disobey Allah SWT. So, I hope my child can be like an angel who is not only beautiful on her face but also beautiful in the heart, also beautiful in behavior Amiin.

And what about you? What name do you want to give to your children later? And what is the meaning of your name? Do you want to change your name? Do you like English name? Or Do you want to give English name for your children later? :D

It's from me, thank you for reading my blog. :)
