Part of Conclusion and Recommendation on the Journal

Hello good persons! In this beautiful occasion I wanna continue reviewing International Journal of English Teaching that entitled "USERS' PERCEPTION IN THE USE OF FACEBOOK AS A MEDIUM OF LEARNING ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO WRITING SKILLS." Published by European Centre for Research Training and Development UK (www.eajournals.org). There are two part of this, Conclusion and Recommendation.

Now, I'd like to review about the conclusion that include in that journal. The conclusion explain that the exposure of senior secondary students to social media is high such that this has negative effects on their writing skills and general linguistic performance as written in the conclusion of journal. The conclusion also explain that using a social media, in this discussion Facebook, can't help student to improve their writing skills. In addition, using social media makes student's writing skills be worst because when they write something about their feeling or they thoughts, they are usually using wrong grammatical rules. They usually write some words with wrong. So, the social media can't help students to improve their English writing skills.

Furthermore, in this part, writer also include the recommendation that given by the researcher. There are 4 point of recommendation of the researcher.
  1. Students should decrease their exposure to Facebook and pay more their attention to their writing skills.
  2. The examination bodies such as WAEC and NECO should motivate the use of standard English in examination situation.
  3. It is important to recommend that social media should be used more carefully by students when needed and not at all leisure time.
  4. Students should be encouraged to write more essays to enable teachers discover and correct their errors.

So, we can conclude that social media can't help students to improve their writing skills and the best way to improve writing skills are learning with the best guided of writing and pay attention about grammatical rules in the writing.

I think that's enough, I do apologize for all of the mistakes that I've written. Thank you~
I'll be back soon. 🌸

Continuance review part of Discussion of Findings from International Journal of English Teaching

Hello good persons! In this beautiful occasion I wanna continue reviewing International Journal of English Teaching (www.eajournals.org) that entitled "USERS' PERCEPTION IN THE USE OF FACEBOOK AS A MEDIUM OF LEARNING ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO WRITING SKILLS".

Now, I'd like to review about part of Discussion of Findings. In this part, the writer gave the analysis of data collection and discussion of major findings. This part, the writer collected data from 3 aspects. Two aspects came from Co-relational Analysis of the use of the Internet (Facebook) and usage of Social Speak In Students' writing and one aspect came from Analysis of Social Speak's linguistic features in Facebook messaging and in students' sheets.

In the first aspect of Co-relational Analysis of the use of the Internet (Facebook) and usage of Social Speak In Students' writing, the writer has collected data about frequency of social media usage of students who use facebook (30 males and 30 females). The result showed that 63.3% they used facebook at many times a day, 23.3% used it daily, 10% others and 3.3% not used it. So we can conclude that students majority used Facebook often in a days.

In the second aspect of Co-relation between Frequency of Facebook Messaging and Use of Social Speak in Essay, the writer has shown data about frequency of social media usage. The result of the data showed that about 66.4% of students used social media many times a day of frequency of social speak in students' writing. 27% daily, 6.6% others, and 0% not used. So, findings of the study therefore suggest that students' constant use of Facebook with social speak as their communicative habit seriously hampers students' writing skills.

In the last aspect of Analysis of Social Speak's linguistic features in Facebook messaging and in students' sheets. This part has shown data of patterns of occurrence of features of social speak in students' formal writing. Based on the data, the three most dominant features of social speak as observed in this study include: contractions, alphanumeric homophony, and misused punctuation. Contraction represents that 28.7% in social media messages and 37.5% in students' essays. Alphanumeric homophony represents 24.6% in social media messages and 30.9% in students' essays. Misused punctuation represents that 21.7% of such features in social media messages and 22.7% in students' essays.
So we can conclude that there are three most dominant features of social speak as observed in this study both in Facebook messages and students' essays.

I think it is enough. I do apology for all of my mistakes that I've done and I've wrote. Nothing is perfect. To be continued. Soon~

Thank you.

Continuance From Review Journal

Hello everyone, Now I'm come back to continue reviewing International Journal of English Language Teaching that published by European Centre for Research Training and Development UK ( www.eajournals.org ). This journal entitled "USERS' PERCEPTION ON THE USE OF FACEBOOK AS A MEDIUM OF LEARNING ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO WRITING SKILLS".

Now, I wanna review about parts of the journal there are Statement of the Problem, Research Questions, Significance of the Study, Scope of the Study, Theoretical Framework, and Methodology.

First, Statement of the Problem. In this part, the journal explained how social media, especially Facebook has given explosion effects to the younger generation. This part explained that about 65% of the world's population use social media. Hence, this study tries to investigate the influence of Facebook on the writing skills of Secondary School students.

Second, Research Question. This study attempts to answer only one question: "Does Facebook have any influence on students' writing skills?". Because of when we have toke a look statement of the problem that said about 65% of the world's population use social media, especially Facebook that be our investigation.

Third, Significance of the Study. In this part, the writer explained that it is expected that the findings of this study would contribute to knowledge about the effect of social media on the teaching and learning of English language in Nigeria. As I've wrote before, this journal discuss about the effect of using social media for younger generation, so, the significance of this study also talk about the effect of social media on the teaching language, especially in Nigeria. This research could also become a baseline for further studies on social media and universal learning. Also, this study would contribute immensely to improving students' writing skills, and generally---- their proficiency in English language.

Fourth, Scope of the Study. The scope of the study was written by the writer was narrowed down to the influence of Facebook on writing skills of Senior Secondary School students in Alimoso Local Government, Lagos State, Nigeria. The scope of this study just focus about the influence of Facebook on writing skills student because the writer has narrowed it. So, we can get the point easily.

Fifth, Theoretical Framework. This part, the journal quoted from theory by George Gerbner. Cultivation theory by George Gerbner is one of the core theories of media effects. The central focus of this theory is that persistent long term exposure to media content has small but measurable effects on the perception of the audience and the more a person is exposed to a message provided by the media, the more likely that person believes that the message is real. In this study, the effect of Facebook on students' linguistic expressions is being measured with proportion to its usage. So, that is why the writer chooses theory of George Gerbner as a theoretical framework.

Sixth, Methodology. In this part, writer explained about the methodology for this study. A descriptive survey design was adopted in this study to get the natural quantitative information that is required for this research from the represented population. A simple random sampling technique was used and sixty (60) SS2 students (30 males and 30 females) from Federal Government College, Ijanikin, and King's College, Yaba, Lagos who were Facebook users were studied. The main tools used for the collection of data included questionnaire, sampled social media messages generated by students, and essays (in sheets) produced by the students. These sheets were content-analyzed to determine to what extent "social speak" as observed in their Facebook messages also occurred in the students' answer sheets. Thus, the methodology for this study was used A simple random sampling technique that used for collection of data included questionnaire, sampled social media and essays.

To be continued~

Facebook can increase writing skill?

Hello again good readers! How have you been? I hope all of you always happy and healthy πŸ˜„. Now, I'm back for my new post in my blog after almost 2 month. I hope you will enjoy it πŸ˜„.

Now, I'd like to give my opinion about International Journal of English Language Teaching that published by European Centre for Research Training and Development UK ( www.eajournals.org ). This journal entitled "USERS' PERCEPTION ON THE USE OF FACEBOOK AS A MEDIUM OF LEARNING ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO WRITING SKILLS". This International Journal really helps me to know and to understand about journal that explained about English Language teaching. This journal also has many volume that you can search it and you can find it to gain your knowledge.

Firstly, I'd like to mention the components of the journal.
1. The title "USERS' PERCEPTION ON THE USE OF FACEBOOK AS A MEDIUM OF LEARNING ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE WITH SPECIFIC REFERENCE TO WRITING SKILLS".
2. Name of Ownership - Oluwayomi S. Oladunjoye (Ph.D).
3. Abstract.
4. Keywords.
5. Introduction.
6. Statement of the Problem.
7. Research Questions.
8. Significance of the Study.
9. Scope of the Study.
10. Theoritical Framework.
11. Methodology.
12. Discussion of Findings.
13. Conclusion and Recommendatio.
14. References.

Secondly, I'd like to give my opinion about the introduction of this journal. After I read the introduction, apparently, the introduction encompass users' perception of Facebook.
I thought that it's because users' perception can also being recognition about the case of the journal was talking about. In the introduction, writer wrotes many users' perception about the use of Facebook. In the first part of introduction, the writer quoted from SchwΓ€mmlein & Moskaliuk, (2012) that explained about the convenience of using social media as a learning strategies for students. Another users' also gave explanation that learning English via internet is a seamless way to increasing the effectiveness of English learning among students, and so on.
Most of all users' perception assumed that learning English via internet or social media, especially, learning English via Facebook can helps students more confident, more happy, more comfortable while learning English via Facebook. Due to the increasing of technology, students can easily learning English by using Facebook and internet, of course. The students can improve their writing skill and reading skill by using Facebook. Additionally, some of users' perception explained that teacher can create a private group discussion for the students to improving their skills without make them feel ashamed. The students also can be active while learning English via Facebook. In this introduction also explained that most of students feel ashamed when learning English face-to-face in classroom. So, if the students learn English via Facrbook, they can feel more confident to put out their skills and it really helps students to increase their skills, especially, reading and writing skills.

Thirdly, This article will be continued 😁. I think it's enough from me about giving my opinion of the introduction of this journal. I'll be back soon. πŸ˜„πŸ˜‰

Review book "The Happiness Trap" Chapter 28-33.

Hello good readers!! 😊 Now I'd like to continue reviewing book entitled "The Happiness Trap". The chapter started from chapter 28 up to 33 and it's means I've finished my assignment. I'm so happy for it. πŸ˜„ Okay lets take a look my review below!!

Chapter 28 Finding Fulfilment

This chapter inform us about differences between a goal-focused lifeand a values-focused lifeto find fulfilment. In this chapter explained that the values-focused life is more fulfilling than the goal-focused life. Why? Becuase you get to appreciate the journey even as you’re working towards your goals. What’s more, in a values-focused life, you’re likelier to achieve your goals. Why? Because if you make sure that your goals are in line with your values, then you’ll be more motivated to pursue them. If you’re living a goal-focused life, then no matter what you have, it’s never enough. Not so with the values-focused life, because your values are always available to you, no matter what your circumstance. (Remember Viktor Frankl, who lived by his values while stuck in a Nazi concentration camp.) Your values are always with you; always available. And acting faithfully to them is usually deeply rewarding. So the more you embrace your values, the greater your sense of fulfilment.

Chapter 29 A Life of Plenty

In this chapter you'll know how much a life of plenty. How much emotions and unpleasant feelings that you will feel but precious little on enhancing the positive ones. This is deliberate. So, this chapter give us suggestiom to enjoy all of emotions and unpleasant feelings that appear and create by own ourselves. Don’t centre your life on chasing them. Pleasant feelings will come and they will go, just like every other feeling you’ve ever had in your life. So allow them to happen spontaneously, while you focus on living by your values. Enjoy them and appreciate them when they come along, but don’t cling to them! As with all emotions, just make roomfor themand let themcome and go as they please.
Life is like climbing a mountain: there are easy stretches and tough ones. But if you’re open and interested in your experience, then the obstacles you encounter will help you to learn, grow and develop, so that as time goes on, your climbing skills improve. Naturally, it’s far easier to be mindful when the going is easy, than when it gets tough. Yet the more you face your difficulties with mindfulness, the more you’ll find you grow stronger, calmer and wiser. This is easier said than done, but you can do it.

Chapter 30 Facing Fear

In this chapter you will know about what way to face fear is. If you are getting fear, you should face it as much as you can. The fear can appear in your life but you should take an action to face it. Because if you are not taking an action, the fear will make you in down position. You should confront your fear at least one of the four major obstacles to change. These obstacles are so universal, they even formtheir own acronym—FEAR:
Fusion with unhelpful thoughts.
Expectations that are unrealistic.
Avoidance of uncomfortable feelings.
Remoteness fromyour values.

Chapter 31 Willingness

In this chapter you will know about willingness. Willingness means we make room for the negative side effects, such as unpleasant thoughts and feelings, in order to create a meaningful life. (And this, in turn, gives us plenty of positive side effects.)But willingness doesn’t mean merely tolerating, gritting our teeth or being able to stand it. It means actively embracing our experience, even though we don’t like it. Willingness is essential because it’s the only effective way to deal with life’s obstacles. Willingness is tremendously important. But by itself it’s not enough for a meaningful life.

Chapter 32 Onward And Upward

This chapter give you information that you should face any obstacles that there are on your life, you should keep onward and upward. We can commit to making meaningful changes whenever we choose to. And in keeping that commitment, we create a meaningful life.

Chapter 33 A Meaningful Life

In the last but not least chapter you will know what exactly a meaningful life and the whole purpose of this book is to help you escape from the vicious cycle of the happiness trap—to live a full and meaningful life instead of basing your existence on chasing ‘good’feelings and avoiding ‘bad’ ones. Of course, in a full human life you will experience the full range of human feelings. You will experience every emotion, from joy and love to fear and anger, and willingly make room for them all.
There’s an ancient eastern saying: ‘If you don’t decide where you’re going, you’ll end up wherever you’re heading.’ To live a meaningful life, you need direction, and your values are there, deep in your heart, to provide it. So connect with those values; use them for guidance. Cultivate a sense of purpose. Keep setting meaningful goals and pursue them vigorously. At the same time, appreciate what you have in your life right now. This is important, because now is the only time you ever have. The past doesn’t exist; it’s nothing more than memories in the present. And the future doesn’t exist; it’s nothing more than thoughts and images in the present. The only time you ever have is this moment. So make the most of it. Notice what is happening. Appreciate it in its fullness. And remember, life gives most to those who make the most out of what life gives.

Okay, I think its all of my review about book entitled "The Happiness Trap". Hopefull you can get something that useful for you.

Fourthly, I wanna comment about a synopsis review that wrote by Rasusi Susanti from PBI'E.
She wrote the synopsis book that entitled "The Magic of Thinking Big". In her reviewed, I know how powerful to think big. Because I realize if someone want to get their dreams, they should think bigger and of course act bigger too. Becuase the thinking big only not enough to get the dreams. Review Book "The Happiness Trap" Chapter 19-27

Review Book "The Happiness Trap" Chapter 19-27
Author: Russ Harris

Hello good readers!!! Very nice to meet you again in my new post 😁 I hope you will enjoy when you read my new review from chapter 19 up to 27 πŸ˜€

Chapter 19 A Confusing Word

In this chapter, writer want to give you information about a confusing word. The writer tell that word "mindfulness" is a confusing word. Why mindfulness be a confusing word? Because First we need to know definition of mindfulness.  It’s a slightly confusing word because it has nothing to do with having ‘a full mind’. Different books will give you different definitions of ‘mindfulness’, depending on their content. This definition tells us several things. Firstly, mindfulness is a conscious process; something we do deliberately. Secondly, it’s not a thinking process; it’s about awareness. Thirdly, it’s about bringing our awareness to the present moment; in other words, paying attention to what’s happening here and now. Fourthly, it’s about doing this with a particular attitude: one of openness, interest and receptiveness to our experience, rather than one of struggle, judgment and avoidance.
The purpose of this chapter is to point out the significant differences between ACT and other mindfulness-based approaches. First, ACT Is About Taking Action. Second, ACT Is Not A Religion Or A Spiritual Belief System. Third, ACT Is Not Meditation. Fourth, ACT Is Not A Pathway To Enlightenment. Fifth, ACT Is Not Based On Just One Person’s Life Experience.

Chapter 20 If You're Breathing, You're Alive

This chapter give you information about very important still breathing. When you're getting problems, you should take a deep breath and let it make you feel better. Because when you're still breathing, you can feel that your problems will go slowly. Breathing is wonderful. Not only does it keep you alive, it reminds you that you’re alive. The idea of Breathing to Connect is to increase self-awareness, accept what you’re thinking and feeling, and connect with where you are and what you’re doing. Once you’ve done this, you’re in the best psychological space to take effective—that is, life-enhancing—action, if that should seem like the thing to do right then.

Chapter 21 Tell It Like It Is
This chapter inform you that when you're in problems and don't know how to handle your urge and your emotions just let it and say everything you want to say. And this chapter also give information when you have getting tired, you should do some activities that make your emotions and your feelings will be less slowly. It can help you to get better on your feelings, emotions and especially on your body.

Chapter 22 The Big Story

This chapter tell you that the big story is a story of your life. The story that tell all of about who you are and what's problem you have. This chapter also tell about the story problem that everyone have. Most of problems that they have is about low self-esteem. Self-esteem is a bunch of thoughts about what sort of person you are. And here’s the key thing: self-esteem is not a fact; it’s just an opinion. That’s right, it’s not the truth; it’s just an opinion—nothing more than a highly subjective judgment, made by your thinking self.

Chapter 23 You Are Not Who You Think You Are

In this chapter you will know that you're not who you think you're. It means that you're not always be what you think who you are, but sometime you're being a observing self not just a thinking self. The point is you can't think that you are who you think you are only. You more than it. So stop to think it too much. If you always think like that, you will never know what you can get in your life.

Part 3 Creating A Life Worth Living

Chapter 24 Follow Your Heart

In this chapter, writer give information for reader to follow your heart when you're doing something. The writer also wrote that your values is very important in lead a life. Values is something that suitable with what there is in your heart. When you go through life guided by your values, not only do you gain a sense of vitality and joyfulness, but you also experience that life can be rich, full and meaningful, even when bad things happen. So, it's very important to do something based on your values and your heart.

Chapter 25 The Big Question

The questions in this chapter refer to many different sorts of relationships, such as:
• Your relationship with your own body
• Your relationship with your work
• Your relationship with nature.
Our lives revolve around relationships—with ourselves, others and everything we encounter in the world around us. The more you act in line with your values, the better will be the quality of those relationships and therefore the more enjoyable and rewarding your life will be.

Chapter 26 Troubleshooting Values

This chapter give you information about how we do the troubleshooting values. The reality is, there will be times that you have to prioritize your values; to focus more on some domains of life than others. This calls for soul-searching; for asking yourself, ‘What’s most important at this moment in my life, given all my conflicting concerns?’ Then choose to act on that value, rather than wasting your time uselessly worrying about what you might be giving up or missing out on. There are many other demons that will try to deter you—but you already know that they’re only a bunch of words. So let them be and focus your attention where it’s most useful: on plotting the course, steering the ship on wards and thoroughly appreciating the voyage.

Chapter 27 The Thousand-Mile Journey

This chapter give you information about steps to lead the thousand-mile journey in your life.

Ancient Chinese proverb by the great philosopher Lao-Tzu said: ‘A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.’ And there are five steps to get meaningful life in your thousand-mile journey. Summarize Your Values, Set An Immediate Goal, Set Some Short-term Goals, Set Some Medium-range Goals, Set Some Long-term Goals.
When we move in a valued direction, every moment of our journey becomes meaningful. So engage fully in everything you do along the way. Practice your mindfulness skills: be open to and interested in your experience. That way, you’ll find it stimulating, satisfying and invigorating, even during those times when the going gets tough.

I think its enough, I hope you can get something that meaningful for you. Don't forget to leave your best comment and critic for me. ❤
